I confess, I am one of those moms. You know the type: schedules everything, forgets to wash her hair for a week, keeps running around making sure everything is done and takes care of everyone but herself. Despite the fact that I tell all my friends, take care of you first, I just don’t do it. It started to feel like I only knew how to be a mom or an entrepreneur, and completely forgot what it feels like just to be a woman. Taking care of me would have probably helped remedy that, but I just didn’t listen…until I had to.
Over the past year, my body started giving me signs that things were changing. Signs that I ignored. I was too consumed with everything except my body. I was experiencing high stress, a loss of a family member and eventually, was diagnosed with a thyroid issue that left me fatigued most of the time. After talking to my friends, I realized, I wasn’t alone. Women can have it all, but we need to remember ways to reconnect with our selves, not just the boss, the mom, the scheduler. I decided it was time that I pay attention to what I needed and came up with a few easy ways to connect with me, the woman, once more, and I get to share them with you.
Spa Day- A few hours of massage, facial and relaxing in one of my favorite spas makes me feel like a QUEEN! How much more feminine can you get?
Aromatherapy- Shop for your favorite candles and surround yourself with it in a quiet room for a few minutes. I love the scent of jasmine- it’s feminine, sensual and so relaxing!
Date yourself- This is an easy one, and something we should all do at least once. Take yourself out for dinner and a movie. No arguing over where you want to go, just pick your favorite spot, a movie you want to see and enjoy!
Sleep- Once a month, I tell my husband to pretend I am not home, and just let me sleep in. I usually only sleep in for an hour, but oh man, is it glorious.
Romantic Getaway- My husband has been planning a romantic vacation for us. Well, staycation…and more like a daycation, because, well, LIFE! But regardless, he knew I needed to relax and it was time to connect.
With Vagisil, I don’t have to worry about all the crazy changes in my life affecting me, especially when I am trying to reconnect with myself and my husband. Vagisil ProHydrate is a vaginal moisturizer used to relieve dryness anytime or in advance of intimacy. It feels like my own moisture and it is clinically & gynecologist tested, with no added perfumes, dyes, preservatives, or estrogen, it works with your body’s natural lubrication to let you feel like yourself again! With a romantic getaway around the corner, Vagisil ProHydrate has boosted my confidence and curbed my fears.
Now, I take a little time to devote to connecting to the woman that I am because I need to feel like myself again. Check out this hilarious animated video about vaginal dryness!

Right now I am looking for a new job so I have not felt like my usual self.
I am approaching menopause, so that makes me feel not myself at times.
I’ve been getting less and less sleep, making me feel less like my normal self. I simply feel like I’ve been super sluggish and my face has shown it (my undereye being baggy, and my skin showing more distress, etc).
I am fully retired now and it is a really big change in my life. Feels a little strange at times that no phone calls or emails from work.
Yes, I am going through the change. I don’t sleep well. I gained a lot of weight. Looking pretty old, not pretty….
Thankfully I am not!

I’ve gone through two surgeries in the past two months. Just starting to feel like myself again, but the past two months were pretty rough. Thanks so much.

we just moved, and since then I haven’t felt like myself.

I re-careered and that has been a huge change! I went from teaching English to accounting. Very different!
I have been in menopause for the last 5 years with no end in sight
Not going through any major changes right now but the holidays usually make me feel better.
My husband passed away in July. I have sold my home in South Carolina and will be moving to Ohio in January. I adopted a fur baby from the SPCA and have made two trips from South Carolina to Kentucky in the last two months. All of those things combined are indeed causing me to feel somewhat not myself

Yes, going through changes. I get the sweats.
Right at this moment no. I am a person who loves routine so I try to keep everything the same always.
But of course, in real life, you get stuff thrown at you. Luckily, right now, I’m in a comfortable routine!
thanks!
Went through the change over 10 years ago. It was terrible. Tweeted: https://twitter.com/TerryPoage1/status/805083039021809664.

I am just exhausted all the time and not feeling like myself. I am looking forward to christmas and some time to recharge.
Wow, yes. I am going through menopause. This seems to be something women don’t talk about much, at least not in my family, so I was not prepared for some of the changes. I am not my old self.
past that “time”
I just bought my first house which is both exciting and stressful at the same time. I am overwhelmed by how much upkeep it requires and the expenses.

I have been struggling to sleep at night so I don’t feel like myself.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 at age 41 and the surgeries, chemo and radiation treatments put me in early menopause and changed my body overall drastically. Then, I lost my Dad 4 years later. My stress level is out the roof!

A few years ago I was diagnosed with blood clots in my head! It will take awhile for them to dissolve but I hate the side effects from it ,headaches and numbness in my face! At first I thought I was having a stroke, but at least now I know what it’s from! The future will be better!!!
Coming up to a point where my husband has to change duty stations and its hard thinking about uprooting my family again and not knowing where we will be going next.

Menopause is kicking my butt..
Ring email sorry
Menopause is kicking my butt
Menopause has completely changed my body. It’s been hard getting used to how fast my “new” body gains weight and how impossibly slow it loses weight. Frustrating!
I just got out of the hospital, so I definitely don’t feel like myself.

Yes I think I’m going thru the change..just turned 49 years old yesterday. I talk a lot about it with a co worker and we trade symptoms and solutions. Hate the hot flashes and mood swings and trying to adjust.
Thank you so much for this; I tweeted as iceyninja
I’m pretty sure I am perimenopausal

I’m working 2 jobs and helping my Mom care for my Dad who can no longer be left alone. Sometimes I feel like I’m losing myself because I have so little “me time”, but then I think of how grateful I am that my Dad is still with us and it’s all worth it.

I’ve lost both parents and a number of other family and friends in less than 2 years and have been having a hard time dealing with it all.
I’m not yet.
No changes.good info
The only change I have going on right now is a job change but I still feel like myself.
I am finally finished with menopause, and even though it’s a relief to be done with those horrendous hot flashes, now my body is going through more changes. There are not that many articles or help for post menopausal women. My hair has darkened and thinned, skin is thinning, and there are many other changes that women need to be aware of, or at the very least should be prepared to address.
My kitty died so I feel lost and sad without him.
I have been going through a lot of financial stress. All of our 3 animals vet appointments were done within 1 month, then our yellow lab had to be put down:( Yoga helps me reconnect though:)
No major changes at the moment, just excited for the holidays!
As an unofficial Stepmom, I am under a tremendous amount of stress from the birth mom and her shennanigans as well as moving, the holidays quickly approaching and everyday adulting, I am not feeling like myself at all!
I’m truly not going through any major changes right now..in fact it’s the most stable I’ve been in years. A year ago I would have answered much differently (moved cities, new job). Thanks for the giveaway!
I am at a job I don’t like but had no choice because I needed a job.
I recently moved and it has made me feel a bit out of place!
I had a radical hysterectomy so I’m in a forced menopause with night sweats, weight gain, and
mental fog! You could say I’m out of sorts.

Yup! need to get a new job, new career change and currently studying in a different field but not crazy about having to take out a student loan so all these things make a bit uneasy
Nothing big right now
I had a baby about 17 months ago and just stopped breastfeeding. I had no idea how powerful hormones were during the weaning process and how much it would impact me so that’s been a huge adjustment!
