The first time I drove my daughter to school, my husband and I were a mess. Sure, she’d been to preschool, but that doubled as a daycare, so in our minds, it wasn’t like actually dropping her off at “school”, you know? But there was the first day of kinder, and she was excited while we were bracing ourselves. Now, that seems so long ago because we’re ready for a new beginning with life at middle school. New beginnings are always scary, and hard, but thanks to Mazda- the transition was made a little bit easier, and a lot more comfortable with the 2018 Mazda CX-9.
This summer has been a lot for my family, so on top of a new school, we moved, so my main goal was to keep transitioning to middle school as smooth as possible. For me, that means ease on the road, for my daughter- that means space. The 2018 Mazda CX-9 takes care of both.
We did most of our back to school shopping very easily. Supplies, shoes, clothes? Easy to fit with Mazda’s flagship three row SUV. Since it was just 2 or 3 of us at a time, we would put the back row down and fill it with items for school and more.
Plus Sofia really loved using the Rear Seat Entertainment Accessory. Running from store to store in L.A. traffic she just threw on a DVD and used the headphones to watch and listen while I faced traffic head on.
As for me, my favorite two functions were the Smart City Brake Support- especially during rush hour for those sudden stops while trying to go pick Sofia up from school. Also, the Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert that is now standard on all CX-9 models. Having been in accidents because of someone deciding to speed up in my blind spot, I felt secure and confident that the journey to and from school would keep my family and me safe, so that we could focus on the big stuff, like middle school life and getting rid of all our boxes from the move.
The 2018 Mazda CX-9 fits into our family budget well too, with models starting at $32,130, there’s a model for every family. Everything I need in a car, the Mazda CX-9 has it but most of all, it won me some cool points with my tween. She’s growing quick, so I will take as many as I can get! Thanks Mazda!
