Now that we have discovered bird island by air, learned a little anger management, it was time to discover bird island in a truly unique manner- snorkeling! Thanks to Sony Pictures, as part of the Angry Birds press junket, a few of us bloggers got treated to a snorkeling cruise that I will never forget.

At 5:30am, we met in the lobby to get in the shuttle for a trip about 20 mins away from the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea to meet our boat and crew of the Kai Kanani.

I highly recommend this snorkeling tour because the crew is amazing and we got two stops in- one near the Molokini Crater and one near Sea Turtles (don’t remember what it was called). I’ve been snorkeling before- but I didn’t last much longer than a minute because I couldn’t get the breathing down. My 2nd try was on the Molokini Crater…and I lasted about 5 minutes. Saw some gorgeous fish though!

Our second stop was full of sea turtles, and I lasted longer than 5 mins this time! In fact, I swam right with a turtle…and sadly, I didn’t get a phone cover on time, so I didn’t take any pics of this. You’ll just have to imagine how amazing it was….cause it was! I actually swam along side one giant turtle! They were coming out of the cave for a swim, so we had plenty of turtles around us. These are the types of turtles we saw:

Gorgeous right? I hope I get back to experience it once more cause it was stunning. The crew gave us ample time to explore, and then it was time to head back. I wasn’t about to leave Hawaii without having a genuine Hawaiian shaved ice, and the Kai Kanani stand sold some.

All in all, the experiences from the Angry Birds press junket were one of a kind and definitely had me flying high. Here’s our group shot, taken by Lori at A Day In The Motherhood.
